It is a sharp cheddar that is mixed with whole grain mustard and "Marzen Hungarian Lager" from Zed’s Brewery (local here in NJ!)
Marzen is German for March beer. Before refrigeration, German brewers made a stronger beer in March. It was stored in cooled caves as a way to preserve it through the summer. They would then bring it out for consumption during the Fall celebration of Oktoberfest.
